had no heat at all on a Sunday.

When he still hadn’t made it here 5 hours later, I was more nervous than I could
bear so I called your answering service him to give me an update as to when he
might be able to make it.

Instead of getting irritated that I had interrupted him again when he was so obviously
frantically busy, again he was kind and reassuring.

After he arrived, he was polite, friendly, and almost upbeat, so I was shocked when
he told me he’d been working all night (this was 2:30 in the afternoon).

He allowed me to watch him while he worked, and he explained what he was doing
and why, which meant a great deal to me. It also made it very obvious that he’s
extremely competent

We have a fuel delivery and service contract with East River, and I wish to appraise
you of the excellent service provided by Mike G., Nate T, and Ray Seward over
the past 24 hours.

Our heating system began to malfunction yesterday when the furnace became
disabled during the cold snap. Although I was able to restart it, it would run for less
than a minute then shut off again. The interior temp dropped very quickly in the frigid
weather. I called East River around 6:30 in the evening and Nate called me back
very quickly. Mike arrived sooner after and began work. He removed a pebble from
the fuel line but problems persisted despite his diligent efforts. Nate himself
subsequently arrived and methodically diagnosed the possible causes and soon
identified the fuel filter as the issue. After the filter was replaced everything
seemed to be in order and both gentlemen cleaned up but remained on hand to
confirm all was well before they departed.

The next morning we noticed one zone would not respond to thermostat inputs. A
fuel leak also appeared at the front of the furnace. Ray Seward quickly responded.
He identified a faulty hydraulic jack and the need to adjust the temperature
differential settings on the furnace controller. His many years of experience was
evident as he quickly resolved all issues. All of the service personnel from
East River were approachable, accommodating, patient and professional. Please
extend our gratitude to them for jobs well done.

East River Energy customer, Patricia P. from
Madison, CT called the office today to rave about
her East River Energy technician, Ray. He arrived at
her home to diagnose a problem concerning uneven heat
distribution. Ray identified the problem and listened to
Patricia’s comments that the house was very dry.
He took the time to look at the humidifier and found there
was a problem with it. He repaired that as well.
She is very happy and wants Ray to be “her” technician!

East River Energy received an emergency call after
hours about a water issue from a customer in
Killingworth. During the follow up call to the
customer the following morning, the customer
conveyed how pleased he was with Bryant.
“He was great!” was the comment and also mentioned
Bryant did a “Face Time Call” with the cat sitter who
was at the residence while the customer was away to
analyze what service was needed..

I have been in construction my whole life, and worked
with many contractors. I was introduced to
East River Energy by one of my contractors. My first
call to them, was incredible, there response time was
fantastic, the staff was professional, polite and neat.
They were in constant communication with me about the
status of arrival to the completion of the job. An
Excellent company and I will not only be using them again,
I highly recommend you hire them for your services.

We require a minimum temperature in the house, and Christine was able to direct Paul to us promptly. I appreciate Christine for sending Paul to fix our heat. Our pet bird Cuddles, is fine.

I would like you to be aware of how appreciative I am of my recent experience with your company.

It began April 25th during regular service/maintenance. “Tall” Steve noted the issue and showed me photos. He reported it promptly and Mike Chickos was out the next day to evaluate and assess. Mr. Chickos gave me information that was informative and very helpful. I had a proposal with two options within about 24 hours. I had several questions that were addressed knowledgeably  and I made my decision with confidence as a result.

We all have to “wait our turn”, but I was ready to go forward as your scheduling permitted. Again Mr Chickos was sensitive to an issue we have with a very young family member. April 10th and 11th John, Mike (“G” I believe), Roger, and Steve Falco replaced my HVAC and heat pump. They were polite, friendly, timely, and before leaving made sure the crawlspace was neat and that I understood the new thermostat. I sighed in relief until over the weekend I noted an area on the exterior of the pump with putty. I emailed my concern to Mr Chickos and sent photos via text. As this was done Sunday evening I did not expect a reply until Mon. Mr Chickos was in touch with me Sun, Mon, and today. I felt reassured that my issue would be dealt with fairly as well as taken seriously. He has kept me up to date daily on what will be done, approximately when, etc. He came by to reinforce the problem area.

As this represents a costly project for me I am more than doubly appreciative! It is easy to complain, but folks often forget to offer the praise.

Everyone I’ve dealt with….Christine, Diane, and all the men mentioned above seem to take real pride in their work/service. And Mr Chickos treats your company like it was his own.

So heartfelt thanks. You should be proud of your staff. I do hope I was easy to work with. I’d be happy if you’d relay my gratitude to all involved.

“East River has been our oil delivery company for
years. Two nights ago, our water heater blew and I
came home to a basement full of water. I called the
on-call technician and he sent someone out that
evening to stop the flow of water and assess the
damage. By noon time the next day, the entire
system had been replaced, and is now working
wonderfully. I honestly thought we would be without
hot water for days, but East River came to our
rescue so quickly! Can’t recommend their
service enough!”

Sally and & Joe Woolston called in today to express their
thanks to East River Energy and commend Rogger Cueva-Pozo
on his excellent work and professionalism.

Rogger came out at 3:45am to fix an emergency no heat call.
To complicate the situation, Sally and Joe are in Florida and
had to remotely guide him in gaining access into the home.
Rogger was fantastic throughout the entire call and did an
amazing job under very difficult circumstances.

I wanted to let you know that Tom O’Neil did a great job on his last tune up and was very impressed with Tom’s knowledge and workmanship.

Good morning ladies,You are the only people I have contact information for so I’m relaying my good comments to you.

Electricity was restored at 2 this morning after 2 days without. My house was a frigid 53 degrees.
Everything was working except the boiler. I waited an hour hoping it would get going but no. So at
3 AM I called for help. The great reviews start there.

The gal taking my call was delightful, funny, professional, warm, and did her job well to get my
issue to a technician quickly.

The technician called right away and was great even at 3AM on a windy cold night. Though my
call for help woke him, he was alert and eagerly came to my rescue within a mere 30 minutes.
He arrived with a cheerfulness vs a grudging attitude that would have been understandable. He
quickly realized the power issue had triggered a hard lockout. All it took was pressing the reset
button for a while. A simple fix that disrupted his good night’s sleep and still he was great. It felt
like he was genuinely happy to get my home warm no matter the hour.

I didn’t get their names but I hope you can find them with a quick records check. Please pass my
note along to management and hopefully shine a light on their great performance.

One of our customers, Joe W. from Guilford just called to say how much he appreciates East River Energy and all of the services we provide. He and his wife were in Florida Saturday, January 15th. In the middle of the night they received a low temperature alarm at their home in Guilford. They received a call back from the on call East River Energy Technician, Nate. Nate responded to their home at 7 AM, called them and was talked through gaining entry into the house. Nate’s work order notes: “System working all thermostats were set to just under 50* low temp alarm going off. Customer in FL. I set all stats to 65.” Joe was very appreciative that the thermostats were increased to 65 degrees, and to learn that the house had not frozen, because he and his wife were returning from Florida that day. Potential problem was averted; customer happy. East River Energy provides its customers 24/7 service. That’s peace of mind you can count on even when you’re not at home! Just a reminder, since temperatures can drop unexpectedly this time of year. keep your thermostats to at least 62 degrees when you’re away for any length of time so pipes don’t freeze and possibly burst.

My family has owned and operated M&M since 1955. The decision to merge wasn’t easy and frankly unsettling, that is until through the grace of god we crossed paths with East River Energy. To us, M&M isn’t just an oil company. It is a business that has provided a wonderful life to three generations of my family. It was important to us to make sure we found another company that valued their customers and their employees as much as we do. The Herzogs, with no question were those people. They instill a family culture within their company and know the value of their customers and what loyalty means, they understand the value of long term mutually beneficial relationships in a day and age where that business philosophy is disappearing. I called East River, and they responded without hesitation by sending their guys to my home for an emergency call. They filled my tank and got me back up and running while explaining everything clearly to me. Truly exceptional service!
